The MAKITA DHP492Z 18V LXT is a compact brushless combi drill built for professional use, combining drilling, driving and a hammer mode for masonry in one body. It runs on the Makita 18V LXT battery platform and its brushless motor delivers up to 141 Nm of torque. Supplied as a body only — battery and charger not included.

The brushless motor in the MAKITA DHP492Z has no wearing carbon brushes, extending tool life and cutting maintenance. Its higher efficiency means more holes drilled and screws driven per battery charge. Built to handle daily professional use.
141 Nm torque and hammer action for masonry
With up to 141 Nm of torque, the DHP492Z drives large screws and tackles tough materials. A hammer mode adds impacts for drilling into brick and concrete, while a single collar switches between drilling, driving and hammer action. Versatile for assembly, woodwork and light construction.
Two speeds, 21 torque settings and a built-in LED light
The mechanical 2-speed gearbox of the MAKITA DHP492Z gives torque for driving in low gear and speed for drilling in high. 21 torque settings plus drill and hammer modes let you match the power to the material. A built-in LED light illuminates the work area in dark corners.
Compatible with the whole Makita 18V LXT platform
The MAKITA DHP492Z accepts every battery from the Makita 18V LXT system, so you share the same packs across your other 18V tools. It ships as a body only — no battery or charger — ideal if you already own an LXT kit. The keyless chuck lets you swap bits by hand in seconds.
