The STIHL RM 655.1 VS petrol self-propelled lawn mower is built for lawns of up to 2500 m², from large private gardens to professional grounds care. It cuts a 53 cm swath and collects clippings in a 70 l opening grass catcher with a fill-level indicator, while the multi-blade also mulches without changing blades.

Blade brake clutch — pause without restarting

The clutch disconnects the blade from the engine, so cutting stops while the engine keeps running. Short breaks to empty the catcher or cross a path need no restart, and the crankshaft is protected if the blade hits an obstacle.

Vario drive with stepless 2.6–4.6 km/h speed

Drive speed is set with a lever on the handlebar while mowing — slower in tall grass, faster across open stretches. Engine speed stays steady as the pace changes.

Powder-coated aluminium deck

The deck is light yet rigid, and its powder coating shields it from corrosion and daily wear. That keeps overall weight down for a machine in the 53 cm cutting-width class.

Multi-blade: cut, collect and mulch, 3-in-1

Specially shaped cutting edges chop clippings into fine particles that fall back as natural fertiliser, or feed them into the catcher when it is fitted. No blade swap is needed to switch between the two modes.

Central 7-position cutting height adjustment

One lever changes the height, with the setting shown on a scale — no tools and no adjusting each wheel. The 25 to 85 mm range covers both close ornamental cuts and the first mow after a long break.
