The STIHL MSA 220 C-B cordless chainsaw runs on 36 V AP System batteries and is built for daily professional work — felling smaller trees, bucking, limbing and cutting construction timber. Supplied as a tool only, with a 35 cm bar and 3/8" PS3 Pro chain.
EC motor delivering 1.7 kW mechanical output
Power consumption is 2.10 kW, while STIHL quotes the mechanical figure as a direct comparison to a petrol saw. With zero exhaust emissions, the saw can be used indoors and in noise-restricted areas.
3/8" PS3 Pro chain with reduced kickback
Full-profile cutters bite smoothly into the wood and leave a clean cut. The 35 cm Light 04 guide bar keeps the front end manoeuvrable during overhead limbing.
Tool-free chain tensioning
A thumbwheel tightens or releases the chain on the spot and the bar locks automatically as the sprocket cover is retightened. The bayonet oil cap needs no tools either, and the translucent tank shows the oil level at a glance.
Infinitely variable chain speed
The trigger works as a potentiometer, so pressure alone sets chain speed for controlled entry on delicate cuts. A steel bumper spike anchors the saw in the wood, while the tubular and rubberised rear handles give a firm two-handed hold.
AP System: up to 44 minutes per charge
Battery and charger are chosen separately — the saw accepts every pack in the professional AP/ALLPRO System, including AP 200 S, AP 300 S and AP 500 S. Tools in this system are water-spray tested to IPX4 for daily use in poor weather.
