TMINOX Perforated Floating Fermentation Lid for MC 485 Wine Tank (item 132378)
Keeps the grape cap submerged throughout fermentation.
The TMINOX perforated floating lid is add-on equipment for the MC 485 stainless wine tank, sitting above the must to hold the grape skins below the liquid level. Made of AISI 304 stainless steel with a 770 mm diameter, it is used for submerged-cap fermentation of red wines.
Submerged-cap fermentation for deeper extraction
The perforations let carbon dioxide and must pass through while the skins stay below the liquid level. For red wines this means constant, even skin contact and no need for frequent manual punch-downs.
AISI 304 stainless steel in contact with the must
The alloy does not react with wine acids and leaves the taste unchanged. The smooth surface rinses clean with water and winery detergent and stores dry until the next harvest.
770 mm diameter – fits MC 485, MC 610 and MC 735 tanks
The lid is designed for the TMINOX tank series with a 794 mm body and drops freely into the opening without fixing. Its profile is just 60 mm tall and it weighs 3.8 kg, so one person can fit and lift it out unaided.
