BOSCH UniversalDetect Digital Detector for Metal, Live Cables and Wooden Studs
Scan up to 100 mm into the wall before the first hole.
The BOSCH UniversalDetect digital detector locates metal, live cables and hidden wooden studs in walls, ceilings and floors. Calibration is automatic in every mode, and findings are shown by an LED traffic-light system plus an audible signal. It runs on 4 x 1.5 V AAA batteries and weighs 0.34 kg.
Three detection modes, one dial of choice
Metal is found down to 100 mm, live single-phase cables down to 50 mm in common wall types, and wooden studs in drywall down to 25 mm — the equivalent of two plasterboard layers. The detector gives you a clear picture before drilling for pictures, lights or wall units.
Automatic calibration — switch on and scan
No manual setup is needed in any mode. The display guides you through each step with animations, so the scanning sequence is clear even the first time you use it.
LED traffic-light indication with audible signal
The colour cue tells you at a glance when the sensor passes an object, with no scale to interpret. The acoustic warning can be switched on or off to suit the situation — handy on a noisy site or during a late-evening check.
Central marking hole in the housing
You mark the spot with a pencil straight through the tool, without shifting it and losing accuracy. The rubberised grip keeps control on walls and ceilings, while the 5-minute auto shut-off protects the batteries.
