The Riken Snow 245/45 R18 is a passenger car winter tyre certified for severe snow conditions, with both the 3PMSF alpine symbol and M+S marking. Its reinforced XL build carries up to 800 kg per tyre and is rated for speeds up to 240 km/h.
V-shaped tread for snow and slush
The tread is split into many blocks cut with a high density of sipes, so there are plenty of biting edges on packed snow and ice. The rubber compound stays soft in deep cold and keeps its grip when temperatures drop sharply.
Grooves that fight aquaplaning and slushplaning
The number and spacing of the grooves are sized to clear water and melting snow from the contact patch. Transverse grooves set at a dedicated angle push slush out to the sides as the tyre rolls.
Silica compound for lower rolling resistance
A new silica compound reduces rolling resistance and helps keep winter fuel use in check. On the EU tyre label, external rolling noise is rated at 72 dB, class B.
Reinforced XL construction rated 100V
Load index 100 allows up to 800 kg per tyre, and the V speed rating covers speeds up to 240 km/h. The 245/45 R18 size fits 18-inch rims and is a common fitment on more powerful saloons and estates.
