The MUHLER MIK-33 USB is a rechargeable insect killer for rooms of up to 30 m². Its ultraviolet LEDs draw flying insects in, and charging is done through a standard 5 V adapter. Mount it on the wall or simply stand it on a shelf or worktop.
UV LEDs peaking at 365 nm
That wavelength sits in the range flying insects respond to most strongly. The LEDs are rated for 10,000 operating hours, covering several active seasons without changing a light source.
1200 mA lithium battery, charged in about 2 hours
Power comes from a 5 V adapter, so the unit also works where no socket is free: on the terrace, at the holiday house or in the bedroom. Power draw is 2 W.
ABS body for wall mounting or free standing
ABS plastic is impact resistant and copes with the damp of a kitchen, terrace or basement. Position it as the room dictates: hung on the wall or set on a flat surface.
