Three-speed electronic control and built-in dust collection for a clean, even finish.
The Makita DBO380Z is an 18V LXT cordless finishing sander with a brushless motor and a 93 x 185 mm rectangular pad that works right up to an edge. Motor and battery sit above the sanding face, keeping the base steady on the workpiece. Supplied as a bare tool, without battery or charger.
Brushless motor with constant speed control
Electronics hold the selected speed even under load, so the scratch pattern stays uniform across the surface. Maximum output is 200 W.
Three speed settings for different materials
The selector offers 4,000, 8,000 or 12,000 orbits per minute. Lower speeds protect soft coatings and varnish, while the top setting speeds up levelling of filler and timber. Orbit diameter is 2.0 mm.
Built-in dust extraction with vacuum option
Dust is captured in the on-tool bag or routed to a vacuum cleaner through the hose adapter. The work area stays clean and the abrasive clogs more slowly.
Tool-free front grip removal for corner work
The front grip comes off without tools, letting the sander reach tight against a wall or a window frame. Overall length is 336 mm and weight with battery ranges from 1.9 to 2.2 kg depending on the pack.
Works with the 18V LXT battery platform
The tool runs on any Makita 18V LXT lithium-ion battery, such as the BL1830B or BL1850B. If you already own packs from the platform, you only buy the bare tool.
