Ceresit CX 5 is a ready-to-use cement-based dry mix that needs only water and anchors metal or plastic elements into concrete, brickwork and cement render. The 2 kg pack covers railings, brackets, pipes and window grilles, fills cavities and stops local water leaks indoors and outdoors.
Anchoring where plugs give up
The mortar is poured into a pre-drilled hole and grips the element along its full depth instead of relying on expansion. It works on horizontal and vertical surfaces alike, with a maximum gap of 20 mm between the fixed element and the surrounding walls.
Compressive strength of 40 N/mm² after 28 days
Six hours after application the mix already reaches ≥ 15 N/mm², and ≥ 25 N/mm² after 24 hours to BS EN 12190. Railings, posts and brackets can be loaded the same day instead of waiting for concrete to cure.
Sealing active leaks on wet substrates
The waterproof formula lets you plug local leaks: mix to a putty-like consistency, press it into the widened opening and hold for a few minutes until it hardens. The material neither shrinks nor cracks as it cures.
About four minutes of working time
Mix only as much as you can place at once, using clean water until the paste is lump-free. For wider cavities it can be combined with clean quartz sand at 1:1, which does not change the open time. Apply at temperatures between +5 °C and +25 °C.
