Ceresit CX 5 rapid-setting cement comes in a 5 kg tub and is a ready dry mix of cement and mineral additives for anchoring and fixing steel or plastic elements in concrete, brickwork, render and screed. It only needs clean water and no special equipment, indoors or outdoors.
Anchoring without waiting until tomorrow
Working time is about 4 minutes and compressive strength reaches ≥ 15 N/mm² after just 6 hours. Brackets, consoles and pipe sleeves are positioned right after mixing and held until set.
Stopping local water leaks
The watertight mix is prepared to a putty-like consistency, pressed firmly into the widened opening and held for a few minutes. It is the go-to fix before concrete repair or waterproofing work begins.
Non-shrinking, chloride-free, frost-resistant
The formula does not crack and will not trigger chloride corrosion on the fixed metal parts. After 28 days compressive strength is ≥ 40 N/mm² and flexural strength ≥ 6.0 N/mm².
Filling voids and shaping corners
The consistency suits both horizontal and vertical surfaces. For openings wider than 20 mm the mix can be extended with clean quartz sand at 1:1; consumption is roughly 1.6 kg per litre of cavity volume.
