SIKA concrete antifreeze (Sika-Antifreeze 1%) is a liquid winter concreting admixture that speeds up early strength development at moderately low temperatures. The 5 kg pack covers 500 kg of cement at the recommended 1% by weight of cement. The chloride-free formula suits reinforced concrete and prestressed elements.
Early strength of 4–5 MPa before mild frost hits
The admixture shortens the time to the threshold at which fresh concrete can withstand slight freezing. It accelerates setting and improves strength development during autumn, winter and transitional days with sub-zero nights.
Chloride-free: safe for reinforcement
The formulation introduces no chlorides or other components that corrode reinforcement, with a maximum 0.1% chloride ion content to EN 934-2. That is why the liquid is used in reinforced concrete as well as in prestressed elements.
Dosing into the mixing water, no guesswork on site
The liquid goes into the mixing water at the batching plant or straight into the mixer on site. When added separately to already mixed concrete, allow about 3 minutes of extra mixing; never add it to dry cement.
24-month shelf life, freeze-tolerant in the container
The sealed container keeps at temperatures from -10 °C to +35 °C, away from direct sunlight. If the liquid freezes, move it into a warm room and let it thaw gradually without an open flame; its properties remain unchanged.
