SIKA Concrete Antifreeze down to -8 °C, 1 kg – winter concreting admixture
A chloride-free liquid admixture that keeps concreting going through frosty nights.
SIKA concrete antifreeze is a liquid winter concreting admixture that speeds up strength development at moderately low temperatures. The 1 kg pack treats 100 kg of cement at the recommended 1% dosage by cement weight, and it is added with the mixing water or straight into the mixer on site.
Concreting that continues through night frosts
The admixture is made for spells with light daytime frost and dropping night temperatures, when work would otherwise stop. It suits slabs, reinforced concrete elements and repair mortars during the cold season.
Fast route to the critical 4–5 MPa strength
At that compressive strength fresh concrete can already take light freezing without structural damage. The accelerated early strength also shortens the time to formwork removal.
Chloride-free: safe for reinforcement
The formulation contains no chlorides or other components that corrode steel, which makes it suitable for reinforced concrete structures as well.
Dose into the mixing water, never into dry cement
When added separately to ready-mixed concrete, mix for a further 3 minutes and check the consistency visually before placing. Fresh concrete should be at least +5 °C, and the placed concrete stays covered with foil or insulation until it reaches 4–5 MPa.
