Acetic silicone with mildew resistance for durable, watertight joints in wet rooms.

MAPEI Mapesil AC is a pure acetic, one-component sanitary silicone sealant in a transparent finish, supplied in a 310 ml cartridge. It seals joints between glass, ceramics and anodised aluminium in bathrooms, kitchens and around sinks. The mildew-resistant, waterproof formula suits both damp interiors and swimming pools.

Mildew resistance for healthier joints

Mapesil AC is formulated with fungicides that hold back mould and mildew growth on the sealant. That makes it a go-to choice around baths, shower enclosures and kitchen worktops where moisture never lets up. The transparent version stays discreet on any surface.

Excellent bonding to glass and ceramics

Mapesil AC bonds firmly to glass, ceramics and anodised aluminium without a primer. This makes it versatile for sealing junctions between tiles, sanitaryware and glass panels. The one-component formula is ready to use straight from the cartridge.

Elasticity with joint movement up to 25%

Mapesil AC forms an elastic barrier that absorbs joint movement of up to 25% without cracking. This flexibility keeps the seal intact through thermal expansion and light vibration. The cured joint is waterproof yet permeable to water vapour.

Wide working temperature range

Mapesil AC is applied at temperatures from +5°C to +50°C and, once cured, withstands –40°C to +180°C. This broad range allows use both indoors and outdoors. It also suits swimming pool joints thanks to its high chemical resistance.
