Acetic silicone sealant with high mould resistance for bathrooms, kitchens and pools.
MAPEI MAPESIL AC 144 in chocolate is a one-component acetic silicone sealant supplied in a 310 ml cartridge for flexible, waterproof joint sealing. It bonds without a primer to glass, ceramics, stainless steel and many plastics, ideal for joints around sinks, bathtubs, shower enclosures and worktops. BioBlock technology gives it high resistance to mould in damp rooms.
Mould resistance with BioBlock technology
BioBlock technology in MAPESIL AC 144 inhibits mould growth on the sealed surface. This keeps the joint clean and intact in the damp zones of the bathroom and kitchen. The silicone is impermeable to water and gases.
Bonds without primer to glass, ceramics and steel
MAPESIL AC 144 bonds without a primer to glass, ceramics, stainless steel and many plastics and rubbers. This speeds up sealing tiles, sanitaryware and glass shower panels. The thixotropic paste applies easily both horizontally and vertically.
Flexible joint for movement up to 25%
MAPESIL AC 144 stays elastic and absorbs movement up to 25% of the initial joint width according to EN 15651. The seal does not crack as elements expand and contract. It suits interior and exterior use, including underwater.
Durable at temperatures from -40°C to +180°C
Once fully cured, MAPESIL AC 144 withstands operating temperatures from -40°C to +180°C. This makes it reliable both near warm surfaces and outdoors. The sealant is solvent-free with very low VOC emissions (EMICODE EC1 Plus).
