MAPEI Mapesil AC 133 Sand sanitary silicone is a pure, one-component acetic silicone sealant for sealing joints in wet rooms. It cures on contact with air humidity to form an elastic, waterproof bond to glass, ceramic and anodised aluminium. It is ideal for sealing around sinks, bathtubs, shower enclosures and countertops.
BioBlock technology stops mould
BioBlock technology in Mapesil AC prevents the growth of mould and mildew on the surface of the joint. The seal stays clean and hygienic exactly where moisture is constant — around bathtubs, showers and kitchen sinks.
High elasticity for movement up to 25%
Mapesil AC absorbs joint movement of up to 25% of the joint width without cracking. The elastic bond follows the natural expansion and contraction of tiles and sanitary ware as temperatures change.
Resistant to temperature and water
Once cured, Mapesil AC withstands temperatures from –40°C to +180°C and stays waterproof. This makes it suitable for joints exposed to hot water, steam and constant humidity.
Sand shade matched to MAPEI grouts
This cartridge comes in colour 133 Sand from the MAPEI Coloured Grouts range, so the sealant matches MAPEI grouts in the same shade exactly. The acetic silicone is easy to apply with a caulking gun and can be tooled both horizontally and vertically.
