Mould-resistant acetic silicone for a durable, waterproof seal in wet areas.
MAPEI Mapesil AC 114 is a one-component acetic sanitary silicone in anthracite, supplied in a 310 ml cartridge. It seals joints in bathrooms, kitchens and around sinks, baths and shower enclosures, forming a flexible, watertight bond. Its BioBlock technology protects the joint against mould, while the material absorbs movement of up to 25% of the joint width.
Mould-resistant with BioBlock technology
The BioBlock technology in Mapesil AC 114 inhibits mould forming on the surface of the joint. That keeps the seal clean and hygienic in damp zones such as bathrooms and showers, where mould appears most often.
Elastic seal for movement up to 25%
Mapesil AC 114 absorbs movement of up to 25% of the initial joint width, in line with standard EN 15651. This elasticity keeps the seal tight as tiles, glass and sanitary ware expand and contract, without cracking.
Excellent bond to glass, ceramic and aluminium
Mapesil AC 114 bonds firmly to glass, ceramic, glazed tiles, stainless steel and anodised aluminium. On concrete, wood and oxidisable metals it is used with Mapei Primerseal primer for reliable adhesion.
Durable across a wide temperature range
Mapesil AC 114 keeps its properties from –40°C to +180°C and offers excellent resistance to water, ageing, soaps and detergents. It suits both indoor and outdoor use, including swimming pools.
