Acetic silicone with BioBlock® mould protection for durable, flexible joints
MAPEI Mapesil AC 112 is a pure acetic sanitary silicone sealant in medium grey, supplied in a 310 ml cartridge for a standard gun. It is ideal for sealing joints between ceramic, glass and sanitary ware in bathrooms, kitchens and other damp rooms. BioBlock® technology curbs mould growth and keeps the joint cleaner for longer.
BioBlock® mould protection in damp rooms
BioBlock® technology in Mapesil AC 112 limits mould and staining along the joint. This makes the sealant well suited to bathrooms, kitchens, laundries and shower enclosures where moisture is constant.
Flexible joint for movements up to 25%
Mapesil AC 112 absorbs movement of up to 25% of the joint width without cracking. This elasticity matters where materials expand and contract — around sinks, tubs and worktops.
Strong adhesion to ceramic, glass and aluminium
The acetic formula of Mapesil AC 112 bonds firmly to glass, glazed ceramic and anodised aluminium, as well as concrete, wood and metal. One cartridge covers about 3.1 linear metres of joint with a 10×10 mm section.
Easy application and smoothing
The thixotropic paste of Mapesil AC 112 is easy to apply on both horizontal and vertical joints without sagging. Smooth the surface with a tool moistened in soapy water before a skin forms.
