The Makita DHR242Z 18V brushless cordless rotary hammer runs on the 18V LXT platform and takes SDS-Plus bits for drilling and chiselling. With three operating modes and 2.0 J of impact energy, it handles concrete, metal and wood from a single tool. Supplied as body only (no battery or charger), so it slots straight into your existing Makita 18V kit.
Brushless motor for longer life and runtime
The brushless motor of the Makita DHR242Z cuts energy losses and extends runtime per charge. Less internal friction means less maintenance and a tool built to last under daily professional use.
Three operating modes for concrete, metal and wood
The rotary hammer offers three modes: rotation only, hammer only and rotation with hammer. One tool chisels, drills into concrete and makes clean holes in wood or metal without swapping machines.
SDS-Plus chuck for quick bit changes
The SDS-Plus chuck on the Makita DHR242Z locks bits in place without a key, so you swap them in seconds. Maximum drilling diameter in concrete is 24 mm, covering most fixing and anchoring jobs.
