A bright LED signals live wiring without ever touching a conductor.
The Laserliner ActivePen is a non-contact voltage tester that checks cables, sockets, bulb holders and fuses for live AC without touching a conductor. It identifies L and N polarity and traces breaks in wires and cables. The pen-format housing with pocket clip weighs just 37 g including batteries.
Live-line detection from 200 to 600 V AC
The tester registers the electrostatic fields generated by alternating voltage across the 50 to 60 Hz band. One instrument covers checks throughout a building installation, from sockets and bulb holders to the fuse board.
L and N polarity without removing covers
The single-pole test shows which terminal is live at sockets and terminal blocks. A clearly visible LED signals detected voltage, readable even in dim shafts and recesses.
Tracing breaks in wires and cables
Running the tip along a cable shows how far the voltage travels and where the break sits. The operating range of -10 °C to +55 °C covers unheated sites in winter as well.
CAT III 600 V for building installations
The overvoltage category permits measurements on a building's distribution circuits. Power comes from two AAA batteries, supplied in the box.
