The ELDOM WV08046HPV hybrid water heater holds 80 litres and heats water with DC power taken straight from photovoltaic panels, with no inverter needed, as well as from the mains. The capacity suits a household of up to four people, and the vertical 46 cm body installs just like a standard electric water heater. Photovoltaic modules are not included.

Two power sources: solar and mains

The panels connect straight to the tank, with no inverter in between. Full operation calls for two to four photovoltaic panels with 60/120 cells, 400 W each and open-circuit voltage up to 42 V. On overcast days the mains element tops up the temperature.

Up to 70% less energy for hot water

According to the manufacturer, a two-person household can cover up to 70% of its hot-water energy from the panels with this 80-litre model. Photovoltaic input peaks at 550 W, while the electric element rates 1500 W.

Electronic control with LCD display and MPP tracker

The display shows water temperature and incoming solar power, and the menu offers three operating modes, including delayed start. The built-in MPP tracker keeps the panels at their maximum power point even under changing cloud cover.
