GARDENA smart Sensor 19030-20 Soil Moisture Sensor
Measures moisture right at the roots so your garden is watered only when it truly needs it.
The GARDENA smart Sensor 19030-20 is a wireless soil moisture sensor that goes into the lawn, a flower bed or a planter and sends its readings to the GARDENA smart App. Alongside soil moisture it tracks outdoor temperature and light intensity. A GARDENA smart Gateway, included in the smart system start sets, is required for operation.
Three readings for precisely dosed watering
The sensor reports soil moisture across the full 0–100 % range, outdoor temperature from -1 °C to +50 °C and light intensity up to 200 kLux. Your watering control then reacts to real garden conditions instead of a fixed timetable.
Measurement in the root zone
The measuring section sits roughly 10 cm below the surface, where roots actually take up water. It performs reliably in lawns, beds and different potting mixes alike.
Wireless link to the GARDENA smart Gateway
Readings travel by radio to the gateway, and an LED signal-strength indicator helps you find the right spot. The free GARDENA smart App for iOS, Android and web gives access to the data and settings after you register an account.
Two AA batteries last a full garden season
The compartment under the flap takes 2 alkaline AA 1.5 V (LR6) batteries, which are not supplied. With no cable and no socket needed, the sensor moves freely between lawn, beds and terrace planters.
