Baumit Grund (Baumacol) Primer 1 kg is a universal, deep-penetrating water-based primer that prepares absorbent mineral substrates before adhesives, paints and self-levelling floors. It works as a bonding bridge between the base and the following layers and evens out the absorbency of the surface. Ready to use or dilutable with water depending on the job.
Bonding bridge for a firm grip
Baumit Grund forms a bonding bridge between the mineral base and the layers that follow – screeds, tile adhesives, waterproofing and levelling compounds. It equalises the absorbency of the substrate so the next layer bonds evenly and lasts.
Easy application by brush, roller or sprayer
Simply shake Baumit Grund briefly and apply it with a brush, roller or garden sprayer. Used as a bonding bridge it dries quickly – from about 15–20 minutes up to one hour before the next layer goes on.
Blue colour for a visible, even coat
Baumit Grund is tinted blue, so you can clearly see which areas are already primed and cover the surface evenly. It suits both interior and exterior use on absorbent substrates.
Solvent-free with low EMICODE EC 1 Plus emissions
Baumit Grund is solvent-free, which makes it well suited for work in enclosed rooms. It is rated EMICODE EC 1 Plus with virtually no release of volatile organic compounds – for cleaner air during and after the job.
