SIKA SikaLatex S is a water-resistant admixture based on a synthetic emulsion for concrete and cement mortars. It is used to prepare bonding bridges between old and new concrete and to produce high-quality site-mix mortars. SikaLatex S boosts strength and adhesion while reducing cracking in screeds, renders and repair mortars.
Water-resistant admixture for strong adhesion
SikaLatex S is a synthetic-emulsion admixture that improves the mechanical strength of cement mortars, especially flexural tensile and bond strength. It is mixed with water and pre-blended cement and sand rather than applied neat. SikaLatex S suits most common construction substrates.
Bonding bridge between old and new concrete
For a reliable bond of fresh concrete onto old, SikaLatex S is diluted 1:1 by volume with water and mixed with cement and sand into a homogeneous mortar. The bonding bridge is brushed on and the new concrete applied wet-on-wet. SikaLatex S works equally well on horizontal and vertical construction joints.
Less shrinkage and cracking
Added to thin cement screeds and mortars, SikaLatex S reduces shrinkage and cracking as they cure. This keeps screeds, renders and repair mortars stronger and longer-lasting. On smooth concrete substrates SikaLatex S also cuts down on the roughening work needed beforehand.
Versatile use and easy cleaning
SikaLatex S is used for bonding bridges, renders, screeds and repair mortars, with dilution ratios adjusted to each job. Tools wash clean with water immediately after use. This white liquid keeps for 12 months in its original, unopened packaging.
