The Knauf Sonicboard A13 plasterboard, 12.5 mm thick and 1200x2000 mm in size, is a high-density board for partition walls, wall linings and suspended ceilings where sound insulation matters. One board covers 2.4 m² and is cut and screwed exactly like ordinary drywall.

Up to 3 dB more sound insulation than a standard board
The gypsum core has a density of at least 800 kg/m³ to DIN EN 520, classifying the board as type D (GKB to DIN 18180). The difference is audible in partitions between a bedroom and a living room, or between adjacent offices.
For walls, ceilings and dry lining
Use it to line non-load-bearing internal walls, to build suspended ceilings under a slab or timber joists, and as a lining that conceals pipework. On concrete, old render or aerated blocks it can be bonded as dry lining with Knauf Perlfix adhesive after priming.
Non-combustible board with no substances harmful to health
The gypsum core is paper-encased, odourless and free of substances harmful to health. Compliance with DIN 18180 and DIN EN 520 makes it suitable for both residential and public interiors.
Tapered long edges for a flush joint
The long edges are tapered, square and paper-wrapped, so joints can be filled with Knauf Uniflott without tape. Stagger the butt joints by at least 40 cm to avoid cross joints.
Load capacity for fixings
At 12.5 mm, a single Knauf plasterboard plug holds 10 kg, while two cavity fixings carry a cantilever load of up to 55 kg. A picture hook with three pins takes 15 kg.
