Baumit StarContact White is a premium adhesive and reinforcing mortar for external thermal insulation systems, made with white cement using an innovative gel technology. It handles both bonding the insulation boards and creating the mesh-reinforced base coat over them. Supplied in a 25 kg bag.
Bonds and reinforces with a single mortar
Baumit StarContact White does double duty on the facade — it glues the insulation boards to the substrate and then forms the reinforced base coat over them. A single product covers both stages, simplifying supply and site work.
White cement and gel technology for breathability
The mortar is made with white cement via an innovative gel technology and offers excellent vapour permeability, so the wall can breathe and moisture escapes. Baumit StarContact White stays elastic and absorbs the facade's thermal stresses without cracking.
No primer before the final coat
Baumit StarContact White provides excellent adhesion to the finishing layer and removes the need for a Baumit UniPrimer basecoat before applying paste renders. That saves one work stage and material on site.
Part of the Baumit Star system, reinforced with StarTex mesh
The mortar bonds Baumit Open facade insulation boards (Open Plus, OpenTerm) and all other Baumit boards, while the reinforced coat embeds the alkali-resistant Baumit StarTex glass-fibre mesh. On new buildings up to 10 m high over ceramic brick, it allows the insulation to be installed without dowelling.
