The Makita DRT52Z is an 18V LXT cordless router/trimmer built for edge work, grooving and profiling in wood, laminate and MDF. Weighing about 1.0 kg, its compact body is easy to guide with one hand along edges and templates. It ships as a bare tool, running on the Makita 18V LXT batteries you already own.
Brushless motor at 30,000 rpm for a smooth cut
The brushless motor of the Makita DRT52Z spins at 30,000 rpm at no load, leaving a clean, smooth edge in a single pass. With no carbon brushes to wear out, the motor lasts longer and needs less maintenance. The trimmer handles edge trimming, chamfers and decorative profiles with ease.
Precise depth setting up to 42 mm
A rack-and-pinion mechanism gives smooth depth adjustment across a 0–42 mm range with repeatable settings. This lets the Makita DRT52Z work just as accurately on shallow laminate trimming as on deeper grooves. The transparent plastic base keeps the cutting line in clear view.
Compact 1.0 kg body for one-handed control
At roughly 1.0 kg bare and 220 mm long, the Makita DRT52Z is easy to guide one-handed along long edges. A rubberised soft grip adds comfort and control during extended use. Soft Start ramps the motor up gently at every start.
Works with every Makita 18V LXT battery
Part of the 18V LXT platform, the Makita DRT52Z accepts batteries from 1.5 Ah to 12 Ah, so one pack powers your whole LXT set. It comes without battery or charger, so you pay for the tool only. The 6 mm (and 6.35 mm / 1/4") collet fits standard router bits.
