Fieldmann FDLM 1040 Laser Distance Meter, 40 m Range

Measures from 20 cm to 40 m within ±3 mm, plus a rolling wheel for curved surfaces.

The Fieldmann FDLM 1040 laser distance meter covers 0.2–40 m and calculates area and volume on the spot. Alongside the laser it carries a measuring wheel for curved and uneven surfaces, and its built-in Li-Ion battery recharges over USB.

0.2–40 m range for indoor and outdoor work

Deviation stays within ±3 mm, using a Class 2 red laser at 630–670 nm and under 1 mW. One person can take room, façade or yard dimensions without stretching a tape.

Measuring wheel for curved and uneven surfaces

A short press starts the wheel; roll it from start to finish to take lengths along arches, pipes, skirting and cladding where a laser cannot reach. Direction counts: the first roll reads positive, the reverse reads negative.

Area and volume calculated in the device

The meter offers single and continuous measurement, with live readings while you move and the last value held on the summary line. Results appear on a backlit LCD, a beep confirms each reading, and units switch between m and ft.

USB charging — around 5,000 measurements per charge

The built-in 3.7 V / 380 mAh cell removes the need to buy batteries. The unit powers down after three minutes of inactivity and the laser switches off after 30 seconds.

100.5 x 38 x 24.5 mm body with soft-rubber buttons

At 59 g the meter rides in a work-trouser pocket. It operates between 0 °C and 40 °C and can be stored from -10 °C to 60 °C.
