The MAKITA BO5031 is a 300 W corded random orbit sander with a Ø 125 mm pad for both coarse and fine sanding of wood, filler, paint and metal. It blends rotation with an orbital motion to leave a smooth, swirl-free surface. Built for professional use, it is equally at home in demanding DIY projects.
Variable speed to match every material
A speed dial sets the pace between 4000 and 12000 opm, letting you tune the sander to the job. Lower speeds protect delicate veneers and paint, while higher speeds strip old coatings fast. This makes the MAKITA BO5031 as capable at rough work as it is at final finishing.
Random-orbit action for a swirl-free finish
The BO5031 pad spins and follows a small orbit at the same time, spreading the abrasive evenly across the surface. The result is a smooth finish free of the tell-tale circular scratches. It is ideal for prepping wood before painting or lacquering.
Hook & loop pad for fast disc changes
Discs attach and release with a hook-and-loop backing in seconds, with no tools required. The Ø 125 mm pad is a common size, so replacement discs in any grit are easy to find. Switching between coarse and fine grit is quick right in the middle of a job.
Built-in dust collection for a clean workspace
The included dust container captures sanding particles right at the source. Cleaner air means better visibility on the workpiece and less cleanup afterwards. When needed, the sander can also be connected to a dust extractor.
Compact and light for extended sanding
