The Makita 2012NB thickness planer is a professional benchtop machine with a 1650 W motor that brings boards to exact thickness across a 304 mm planing width. Carpenters use it to flatten and calibrate boards, battens and worktops in the workshop or on site. Two HSS blades with magnetic holders and the setting wrenches are included.

304 mm planing width for wide boards and worktops

The Makita 2012NB accepts stock up to 304 mm wide, so a wide board or worktop is levelled in one go instead of being ripped and glued back together. Maximum workpiece thickness is 155 mm, enough for solid beams and furniture legs.

1650 W motor at 8500 rpm for a clean surface

The 1650 W motor spins the cutterhead at 8500 rpm, leaving a smooth surface that needs minimal sanding. Depth of cut is adjustable up to 3 mm per pass, so both heavy stock removal and fine correction are covered.

Fast blade changes with magnetic holders

The two HSS blades of the Makita 2012NB are swapped using the supplied magnetic holders, removing the need to centre and align them by hand. The blades are reversible, so flipping them restores a clean cut.

Compact body built to travel to the job

At 28.1 kg the planer is a two-person lift onto a bench or stand and stores away in a corner of the workshop afterwards. A noise level of 83 dB keeps longer indoor sessions more comfortable.
