The Makita MR009GZ is a 40V Max XGT cordless lantern radio that combines 360° area lighting, a DAB/DAB+ and FM digital tuner and Bluetooth audio streaming. Light output reaches 310 lm, while the USB port charges a phone straight from the battery. Supplied as a body only, it runs exclusively on Makita 40V Max XGT batteries.
Four lighting modes for every position
Choose full 360° lantern coverage, a 270° pattern for hanging sideways, a directional flashlight beam or strobe. The flashlight mode delivers up to 1,000 lx, and three light tones — Daylight White, Neutral White and Warm White — suit both jobsite work and relaxed evenings.
14 hours of runtime on one 4.0 Ah battery
With a 2.5 Ah XGT pack, radio and 360° lantern run for 10 hours. XGT batteries of 2.0, 2.5, 4.0 and 5.0 Ah all fit, so any pack already in your kit powers the unit.
DAB/DAB+, FM and Bluetooth 5.0 with digital display
The digital tuner covers DAB Band III (5A–13F) and FM from 87.5 to 108 MHz, with an easy-to-read LCD showing station and settings. Bluetooth pairing works reliably to around 10 m and up to 30 m maximum.
Rubberised XPT-protected body for the jobsite
XPT protection guards the electronics against dust and moisture, while rubberised sections absorb knocks in transit. The supplied strap with hook lets you hang the unit from scaffolding, a door or a branch.
