FERRARI 13073 Airlock – 2-Chamber Fermentation Valve for Wine
Lets fermentation CO₂ out and keeps air away from the wine.
The FERRARI 13073 airlock is a 2-chamber fermentation valve for home winemaking, fitted into the opening of a demijohn or fermenting vessel. Water inside the two chambers forms a hydraulic seal that releases gas while blocking air and insects from reaching the wine.
Two water chambers that stop oxidation
Pressure inside the vessel stays balanced with the room, with no contact between wine and oxygen — the very contact that turns young wine sour and dull.
Quiet fermentation, contained aromas
Gas escapes as slow bubbles through the water instead of the vessel breathing through a loose cork. The bubble rate also shows how far fermentation has progressed without opening the container.
Reusable season after season
The airlock comes apart for rinsing and is refilled with clean water before each batch. Its plastic build tolerates sanitising with a potassium metabisulphite solution.
