FERRARI 10001 oak chips are medium-toasted French oak pieces in a 100 g pack for flavouring homemade wine and spirits. They deliver the classic oak-barrel character without needing an actual barrel. Use them during fermentation or ageing alike.
French oak for a rounded wine flavour
The FERRARI oak chips give wine a pleasant French-oak woody note and a rounder taste on the palate. The optimal dose is 1–4 g per litre depending on the effect you want. Add them during fermentation or during ageing.
Oak-barrel aroma for homemade brandy
For brandy, the FERRARI 10001 chips lend smoothness, colour and the aroma of an oak barrel. Use 1–2 g per litre, adding the pieces directly or in a muslin bag. Keep them in contact for 3 to 20 days, or until the desired colour is reached.
Flexible contact time to suit your recipe
For wine, contact time ranges from 7 to 40 days depending on the factors affecting extraction. This lets you control how pronounced the oak character becomes. A single 100 g pack is enough for several litres of drink.
