FERRARI American Oak Chips 10002 are medium-toasted oak flakes packed in a 100 g bag for home winemaking and spirit ageing. The chips give wine a pleasant woody note and a rounder taste, while lending spirits the softness, colour and aroma of an oak barrel. They work both during fermentation and during maturation.
American oak for a woody note in wine
FERRARI oak chips 10002 give wine a distinctive American-oak character and a rounder taste. The recommended dose is 1–4 g per litre, depending on the sensory and technological effect you want. Add the flakes during fermentation or during maturation.
Barrel softness and aroma for spirits
For spirits, the FERRARI oak chips add softness, colour and the aroma of an oak barrel. Use 1–2 g per litre and add the flakes directly or inside a muslin bag. Keep them in contact for 3 to 20 days, or until the desired colour is reached.
Medium toast for flexible contact time
The medium toast of FERRARI 10002 delivers a balanced woody profile without excessive smokiness. In wine, the contact time ranges from 7 to 40 days depending on the mix of factors affecting extraction. This lets you control the intensity of the flavour yourself.
