The STIHL AX 6 P forestry hatchet is a compact hand tool for delimbing branches and splitting lighter wood and kindling. Its fibreglass-reinforced polyamide handle is permanently joined to the coated C60 steel head, and the centre of gravity close to the head keeps swings efficient. A practical pick for the garden, the yard, camping trips and light forestry work.
Precise strikes for pruning and kindling
The STIHL AX 6 P is made for delimbing and lighter splitting work, so you can work one-handed and close to the wood. Its wedge-shaped, coated C60 steel head bites cleanly and resists corrosion. Ideal for preparing kindling for a fireplace, wood stove or campfire.
Weather-resistant polyamide handle
The fibreglass-reinforced polyamide handle is light, tough and unaffected by rain or damp, with no upkeep needed. Its lower section has a non-slip coating for a secure grip, even in work gloves. The head is permanently and inseparably fixed to the handle.
Integrated nail puller in the blade
The AX 6 P has a nail puller built into the cutting edge, so you can pull staples and nails out of reclaimed boards without reaching for another tool. That protects the blade when splitting recycled timber. The hatchet carries the KWF-Standard quality mark.
Safe-use note
Do not use the AX 6 P to drive steel splitting wedges — steel must never be hammered onto steel. Use the dedicated wedges and hammers from the STIHL range for that job. This keeps the hatchet head in good condition.
