OSRAM LEDriving SL C5W 31 mm 6000K LED Car Bulb (6438DWP)
Cool-white 6000 K LED that drops straight into a 31 mm C5W festoon socket.
The OSRAM LEDriving SL C5W 31 mm 6000K is a direct LED replacement for the classic 31 mm festoon halogen bulb with an SV8.5-8 base. It is used for licence plate, interior, boot and glovebox lighting and draws 1.2 W from a 12 V vehicle system. Fitting is plug and play — the bulb simply clips between the two spring contacts of the holder.
6000 K cool white instead of yellowish halogen
Luminous flux is 45 lm at a 13.5 V test voltage, with a daylight-like white tone. The difference shows most clearly on the licence plate and inside the cabin, where white light picks out dark trim and lettering with more contrast.
SV8.5-8 base and 31 mm length for an exact fit
The body measures 11 mm in diameter, so it also fits shallow plate lamps and tight interior housings. Check the length of the old bulb before buying — C5W festoons come in 31, 36 and 41 mm, and the three are not interchangeable.
1.2 W draw and 5000-hour service life
OSRAM quotes 2500 hours to first failures (B3) and a 5000-hour service life (Tc), far beyond a halogen C5W. The low current draw helps when doors and the boot are opened often, or when parking lights stay on.
