The BOSCH P21/5W automotive bulb is a dual-filament 12 V lamp with a BAY15d base — the standard choice for combined rear light clusters where one bulb handles both the brake light and the tail light. Supplied as a 2-pack so both sides of the car can be replaced at once.
Two light outputs in a single bulb
Two independent filaments deliver 21 W for the brake light and 5 W for the tail light. The offset pins of the BAY15d base allow only one fitting position, so the two functions cannot be swapped during installation.
Fitment in rear lamps and indicators
The P21/5W type is used in brake and tail lights and, in many vehicles, in rear indicators and reversing lamps. Check the owner's manual for the bulb type specified for each position before buying.
A spare in the car for roadside replacement
The two-piece pack leaves a spare in the glovebox after a replacement — a failed brake light is a common roadside-check issue. On most cars the swap needs no tools: the holder simply twists out from inside the boot.
