The Makita UC029GZ is a 40V max XGT cordless pruning saw with a 15 cm bar and a brushless motor, built for professional tree care and shaping. It ships as a tool only, supplied with guide bar, chain, bar cover, file set and an oil vessel, and runs on XGT 2.0 Ah, 2.5 Ah and 4.0 Ah batteries.

590 W brushless motor output

Chain speed reaches 8.0 m/s for clean cuts when trimming branches overhead. The housing uses XPT sealing against dust and moisture for outdoor work.

1.4 kg tool weight for one-handed use

Overall length is 474 mm and the saw weighs 2.4 kg with a 4.0 Ah battery. The top handle keeps the balance point close to the wrist when working aloft on rope and harness.

Automatic chain tensioning and oiling

Tension is set with a lever, without keys or screwdrivers. The oil pump feeds lubricant from the 55 mL tank while cutting and keeps the bar from overheating.

Narrow 1.1 mm 80TXL chain for longer runtime

Chain pitch is 0.325" and the slim cutter profile lowers cutting resistance and energy draw. Chain and bar changes are tool-free.

Chain brake and anti-restart protection

The electric brake stops the chain the moment the trigger is released. Anti-restart protection prevents the saw from starting on its own if a battery is fitted with the trigger held.
