The DeWalt DCD799P2T-QW is a compact brushless hammer drill driver from the 18V XR platform, built for drilling wood, metal and masonry as well as driving screws. It ships ready to work, with two 5.0 Ah batteries, a charger and a TSTAK case.
164 mm compact body for confined spaces
DeWalt lists the DCD799 as the most compact hammer drill driver in its 18V XR line. The brushless motor allows a much shorter body, and the tool weighs 1.17 kg without a battery, which makes overhead work far less tiring.
Brushless motor with all-metal two-speed gearbox
Two gears give you 0–450 rpm for driving and 0–1650 rpm for drilling. The metal gears are built for jobsite loads and extend tool life. With no carbon brushes, the motor runs cooler and gets more work out of every charge.
Hammer mode for masonry, 15 clutch settings for driving
With up to 74 Nm of torque, the drill bores up to 13 mm in masonry and metal and up to 30 mm in wood. The 15-position clutch stops the chuck at the set torque, so screws don't get overdriven in softwood or plasterboard.
LED in the tool foot and magnetic bit holder
The LED sits in the foot below the grip and lights the work area in dark recesses and cabinets. A belt hook and a magnetic bit holder come in the kit, keeping the drill and your bits at hand when you're up a ladder.
Kit with two 5.0 Ah batteries and a TSTAK case
The XR Li-ion batteries have a state-of-charge indicator, and swapping between the two keeps you working while one charges. The charger is a multi-voltage XR unit. The drill also takes any other DeWalt 18V XR battery, and the TSTAK case stacks with the rest of the TSTAK storage system.
