EVPOINT ADP-T1-T2-2 EV Charging Adapter, Type 2 to Type 1, 32 A, 7.4 kW

Connects an SAE J1772 electric car to Europe's tethered Type 2 charging posts.

The EVPOINT ADP-T1-T2-2 charging adapter takes the Type 2 cable of a European charging station and feeds it to the car's Type 1 inlet. It is made for EVs and plug-in hybrids imported from the USA, Canada or Asia, where the SAE J1772 inlet is factory standard. Operation is single-phase at up to 32 A.

Access to public posts with a tethered Type 2 cable

Most charging posts in Bulgaria and across Europe come with a fixed cable ending in an IEC 62196-2 Type 2 plug. The adapter sits between that plug and the car, opening up stations the vehicle otherwise could not use.

Single-phase charging up to 7.4 kW at 32 A

Working voltage is 240 VAC and current reaches 32 A, the ceiling the Type 1 AC standard itself allows. Actual speed follows the lower rating of the charging post and the car's on-board charger.

IP44 rating for outdoor charging

The housing is protected against splashing water from any direction and against solid objects above 1 mm, covering use on an open car park in the rain. At 0.350 kg it rides in the boot without taking up space.
