The LAKTOFOL BOTANIKA compressed coco coir substrate is a block of 100% coconut fibre that expands into 10 litres of ready-to-use growing medium once soaked in warm water. It is a universal medium for sowing seeds, rooting cuttings and repotting indoor or garden plants, and it stores flat until the day you need it.
Warm water and 10 minutes to ready soil
Preparing the LAKTOFOL BOTANIKA coco substrate takes only minutes: drop the block into a deep container, add 4.5–5 litres of warm water and wait. Loosen the expanded soil, level it and sow your seeds straight into it.
Neutral-pH coconut fibre for strong roots
Coconut fibre has a neutral pH and provides the texture and water balance young roots need. The substrate improves aeration and drainage in the pot, while its light structure reduces compaction and the risk of root rot.
A peat alternative for a more sustainable garden
Coconut fibre is a by-product of coconut processing and replaces peat, helping protect peatlands and biodiversity. The material is biodegradable and holds moisture well, so you water less often.
Compact block that stores easily
In compressed form the block weighs about 0.5 kg and takes up almost no shelf space in a shed or cupboard. Keep a few in reserve and mix fresh growing medium exactly when you need it.
